Iso Lomuzi Trust exists to preserve historical records, defend land rights, and empower communities through research and advocacy — rooted in the heart of Evaton.
History of Eye of the Community Trust
Iso Lomuzi — meaning "Eye of the Community" — was born from a deep need to safeguard the historical identity and land rights of the Evaton community. For decades, colonial and apartheid‑era records obscured the truth about land ownership.
Our founders, led by Dr. Thandiwe Mokoena, began meticulously collecting oral histories, surveying boundaries, and building a legal archive that now serves as a foundation for justice and community empowerment across Gauteng and beyond.
